Animal Habitat

Animal Habitat
Animals live everywhere on earth--in every kind of terrain and every kind of climate.
An animal's living place is called its habitat. Most animals are only adapted to live in one or two habitats. A baracuda which is a salt water fish could not live in a fresh water lake. A walrus could not live in a desert. A rattlesnake could not live for very long in the arctic.
Some animals migrate in the spring and again in the fall to find warmer habitats with an abundance of food.

The habitats are:

  1. Polar/arctic areas
  2. Mountains
  3. Oceans
  4. Deserts
  5. Savannah/grasslands/prairies
  6. Tropical rainforest
  7. Woodland/forest
  8. Tundra
  9. Taiga
  10. Wetland areas/marshes
  11. Pond
  12. Rivers/lakes
  13. Coral reef
  14. Deciduous forest
  15. Tide pool
  16. Cave

Water Cycle for kids

A creative song to learn the water cycle!

Somewhere, out there,
The sun shining in a little puddle
Thats just part of something we call,
The Water Cycle.

Water from the little puddle turns to gas,

The gas forms into puffy clouds,

The clouds get heavy and the rain pours down,
And more puddles on the ground

Oh the water cycle round and round
Vapour goes up and the rain comes down
Water in the sky, in the ocean, in the ground
Its all in a cycle going round and round.

Some clouds look like a horses tail, thats cirrus (cirrus!)
Some clouds look like cauliflower, thats cumulus (cumulus!)
Some clouds look like a blanket of grey, thats stratus (stratus!)

They are high clouds, low clouds, and in between clouds
Fog on the ground is also rarely seen clouds

Yeah Yeah Yeah
Oh the water cycle round and round
Vapour goes up and the rain comes down
Water in a river, in a glass, in a cloud,
Its all in a cycle going round and round.

When warm air meets cold air trouble brews
That could mean a storm and thats bad news,
A hurricane can form when that happens near warm water
Look out if that storm reaches land.
Get out of the way, grab your sons and daughters.

And Kabam
Oh no! We forgot uncle...

Im ok, Im alright, I was just hiding in the garbage can.
He was hiding in the garbage can

Oh the water cycle round and round
Vapour goes up and the rain comes down
Water in a person, in a well deep down,
Its all in a cycle going round and round.

Pink is a mixture of red and white.
Commonly used for Valentine's Day and Easter, pink is sometimes referred to as "the color of love."
The use of the word for the color known today as pink was first recorded in the late 17th century.
